Strange Request [08 Jun 2008|10:41pm]

spikeface
Er, so, this might sound kind of/really strange, but I'm on this hunt and I'm hoping one of you people could help me. My mother mentioned that she saw this guy on "Boomtown" a while ago (obviously) who was the spitting image of my deceased father as a young man. He apparently showed up in one episode as a relatively minor character, possibly in a flashback because the scene was black and white. He was young, white, with curly (blonde?) hair. My mom thinks he was going to rob a bank. He might have gotten killed.

I know all this is very out of left field, and LJ said this community was updated 100 weeks ago so I don't even know if anyone will read this, but I'm trying to hunt down the actor for her. I've gone through the IMDB records and searched for screencaps, but I haven't found anything. If anyone recalls which episode this was, or any other useful information, I'd be most obliged.

Has anyone had the pleasure of watching "Windfall" on NBC? The show stars Jason Gedrick and Lana Parilla of "Boomtown."

A/N: My first Boomtown fic, because I can't sleep. Tom, Joel, Fearless, and Ray get drunk, for reasons only they understand.

It's not often they all get together after a hard day of work.Collapse )

Hi everybody! (Hi Dr. Nick-wait, wrong show...)

Anyway, I bought the first season DVDs off Amazon, and right now I'm starting on the Halloween episode, and I love every minute so far. Like the rest of you, I'm completely confused as to why they would ever cancel it. I don't think there's a character I dislike yet, though my favorites are Joel and Tom, with Fearless and Ray as close seconds, and then McNoris, Andrea, and Teresa.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and hopefully once I finish the series (or earlier maybe) I'll have some fics. ^_^

another one bites the dust....

NBC did it again and cancelled their only other unique cop show. last night was third watch's last night. so now it's all law and order spinoffs. :( makes me sad that they do this. but at least boomtown DVDs were released.

I'm a pretty big Boomtown fan, I so wish it didn't get cancelled ;; Anyways, I'm just promoting a fairly new community called copshows, where we all discuss cop television, and write commentary and reviews of episodes. You can also become a resident expert in whichever shows you know a lot about. We'd love to have you! No Boomtown experts yet....

'Boomtown' buddies in 'Code' mode
October 24, 2004
By Michael Schneider

"Boomtown" alums Jon Avnet and Donnie Wahlberg (news) have reconnected and partnered with scribe Jack Orman ("ER") to produce a put pilot at NBC.

"The Code," which Orman will write, stars Wahlberg as a good cop who goes undercover inside the world of crooked law enforcers. Peacock has agreed to a significant penalty in exchange for the project, which comes from Warner Bros. TV.

Orman will develop the project while continuing with his duties on CBS' "Dr. Vegas." Orman exec produces the Rob Lowe/Joe Pantoliano vehicle.

Orman's on board to exec produce "The Code" alongside Avnet, while Wahlberg will also serve as a producer. Before "Dr. Vegas," Gersh-repped Orman spent six years on "ER," where he worked his way up to showrunner. His other credits include "JAG."

Avnet, meanwhile, most recently produced the feature "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow." On the TV side, he exec produced and directed the NBC longform "Uprising."

As for Wahlberg, thesp's credits include "The Sixth Sense" and "Dreamcatcher," as well as the HBO mini "Band of Brothers" and CBS' "Big Apple."

A new show for Det. Stevens? [29 Sep 2004|08:33pm]

From DonnieWahlberg.com

Donnie cops Hub pilot

The ``Boomtown'' bust hasn't arrested Donnie Wahlberg's desire to develop a new gritty cop series for NBC. But the really good news is that the Dorchester homey has high hopes to shoot the series entirely in Boston!

``Shooting a show set in Boston in Toronto just doesn't cut it with me,'' said Donnie, who was out at the Mohegan Sun yesterday for a benefit golf tournament for the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation.

``It's been my dream to come home and help out my friends with some work. We'd put $16 million into the economy if we shot the entire series in Boston.''

F.O.D.s will be happy to hear that the TV pilot for the show that Donnie describes as ``like `Narc' meets `Serpico' '' is set in Charlestown and will be shot here in February.

``Selling the show to NBC was the easy part,'' Wahlberg said, adding that ``Boomtown'' exec producer Jon Avnet has also signed onto the project.

In the meantime, Wahlberg has just returned from Philadelphia where he read opposite James Franco in ``Annapolis.''

The big-money Disney flick is about a street kid who boxes his way into the U.S. Naval Academy.
Sounds like a knockout!

I'm up to episode #17 Blackout on my Boomtown DVD's. Every episode has been excellent so far. I caught a couple I didn't see on TV too. Sinoala Cowboys and Execution. The last four episodes of the show, when they changed the format a little are awesome. I miss Boomtown. :(

Anyone bought the DVDs yet?
My finances are a little tight right now, so I won’t be able to get them for a month or so, but I still need my vicarious Boomtown. Anyone who has bought it, how is it? Is the layout cool? Are the special features worth watching?
